It’s been just over a month since our Bunn Leisure’s Got Talent glittering finale, which saw a huge number of acts from past competition heats battle it out for the grand prize. This year, the judging panel included Liberty X star, winner of BBC One’s The Voice and recently announced Wet Wet Wet frontman – Kevin Simm.
We thought it would be a great idea to have a catch up with Archie Collier, aged 11 from Kent, to find out how it felt to win the competition and walk away with £1000 cash prize.
Q: How did it feel to win Bunn Leisure’s Got Talent?
A: Amazing, I was so happy!
Q: For those who did not attend the final, tell us about your talent.
A: I’m an acrobatic gymnast and I train around 20 hours a week. I have been competing in international competitions and have also competed on the GB team in the European Championships, coming 2nd, and World Championships coming 3rd. I love gymnastics and want to go to the world games.
Q: That sounds amazing and at what age did you start gymnastics?
A: I started when I was 6 years old and I train every week.
Q: Who inspires you and why?
A: I’m inspired by acro gymnasts that perform in the circus and Cirque Du Soleil.
Q: Your performance in the finale was delivered to an extremely high standard, you’re definitely on the right path! You had everyone going crazy that night, but who would you say is your biggest supporter?
A: Ohhh, my biggest supporter? That will have to be my Mum – she’s always there for me.
Q: What do you plan on putting the £1000 prize money towards?
A: My gym leotard, a computer game and some new trainers
Q: And finally, what’s next for you Archie?
A: I will be continuing to train hard as I plan to trial for Team GB, with my new partner and hope to compete again in Europeans and Worlds.
Q: You won the Bunn Leisure’s Got Talent heat earlier this year during the school holidays, whilst here, what were your top things to do whilst on holiday, apart from the competition?
A: I have been on holiday twice to Bunn Leisure in the static holiday homes and my favourite things to do are swimming in the Oasis Leisure Centre, the funfair ride and the beach.
